Terms & Conditions

1. Quotes & Pricing

1.1 All quotes are based on the information provided by the customer, including inventory details, access conditions, and pickup/drop-off addresses.
1.2 Quotes may be revised if the information supplied is incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading.
1.3 On-site inspections may be required for large, complex, or specialised moves.
1.4 Fixed-price quotes are valid only when confirmed in writing by Movexpress Relocation.

2. Booking Confirmation & Call-Out Fee

2.1 A booking is confirmed once the required call-out fee or deposit has been received.
2.2 Call-out fees are non-refundable after 24 hours from the time of booking.
2.3 Cancellations made within 24 hours of booking may be eligible for a refund at our discretion.
2.4 Where applicable, call-out fees may be deducted from the final invoice.

3. Cancellations & Rescheduling

3.1 Customers must notify Movexpress Relocation as soon as possible regarding cancellations or schedule changes.
3.2 Cancellations or rescheduling within 48 hours of the scheduled service may incur additional charges.
3.3 Same-day cancellations may be charged partially or in full, depending on the circumstances.
3.4 We reserve the right to reschedule services due to weather conditions, traffic delays, mechanical issues, or other unforeseen events.

4. Payment Terms

4.1 Full payment is required upon completion of the service unless otherwise agreed in writing.
4.2 Payments can be made via bank transfer, card, or cash.
4.3 Late payments may attract administrative or processing fees.
4.4 Goods may be withheld until full payment is received, where permitted by law.

5. Customer Responsibilities

Customers agree to:

Provide accurate information regarding inventory, access, and addresses
Ensure adequate parking and building access
Disconnect appliances prior to our arrival
Remove hazardous, illegal, or flammable items
Secure pets and children away from work areas
Pack small or fragile personal items unless professional packing is booked

6. Items We Do Not Transport

Movexpress Relocation does not transport:

Dangerous goods or chemicals
Firearms or ammunition
Explosives
Perishable food
Live animals
Plants for interstate moves due to quarantine restrictions

7. Insurance & Liability

7.1 We maintain transit insurance as required by Australian law.
7.2 Liability is limited in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law.
7.3 Any damage must be reported before our crew leaves the delivery site or in writing within 24 hours.
7.4 We are not responsible for:

Pre-existing damage
Items packed by the customer
Flat-pack or particleboard furniture
Electronics unless professionally packed by Movexpress Relocation

8. Delays & Access Issues

8.1 We are not liable for delays caused by traffic, weather, lift availability, building management restrictions, or incorrect address details.
8.2 Additional charges may apply for waiting time, stair access, long carry distances, or restricted access.

9. Heavy or Special Items

9.1 Items such as pianos, safes, gym equipment, or pool tables must be disclosed at the time of booking.
9.2 Additional charges or specialised equipment may be required.
9.3 Failure to disclose such items may result in refusal of service or extra fees.

10. End-of-Lease Cleaning Services

10.1 Cleaning services are provided according to the agreed scope of work.
10.2 Bond return is not guaranteed and is subject to landlord or property manager standards.
10.3 Re-cleans may be offered where included in your service agreement.

11. Right to Refuse or Cease Service

Movexpress Relocation reserves the right to refuse or stop work if:

Unsafe conditions are present
Undisclosed hazardous items are found
Payment is not made
Abusive or threatening behaviour occurs

12. Privacy

All personal information is collected and stored solely for service delivery purposes and is handled in accordance with Australian privacy laws.

13. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
